Chemo Round 5 Done

As usual after a round of chemo, I'm very nauseous and tired. I'm sure, as before, I'll feel better in a few days.

Starting Chemo Round 5

My CT scan showed improvement, though not as dramatic as after the first 2 rounds of chemo. We decided to proceed with round 5 & 6. The first day, as usual, wasn't too bad. I was really tired afterward, but that was probably due to the long ride home from Kalamazoo yesterday. I'll let you know how I feel after 2 more days of it.

A quick update - since it's been two weeks since chemo I'm feeling about as well as I do these days, almost normal. This past weekend we drove to Kalamazoo, Michigan, to visit the grandchildren. Today I see my oncologist to go over the CT scan I got last Thursday and to determine whether we proceed with chemo round 5.

Been Camping!

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Not to worry, I'm doing fine. I spent the early part of last week recovering from chemo. On Tuesday I had lunch with some of the guys from my department at work. Now we are just back from a four-day weekend camping in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. For once the weather was perfect (maybe Allison is the jinx, not me!) and we had a wonderful relaxing time.

Chemo Round 4 Done

It's been another typical chemo week. After the first treatment on Tuesday, I felt pretty good and had so much energy I couldn't get to sleep until 2am. The nausea started on Wednesday, but the medications did a pretty good job of controlling it. The fatigue hit on Saturday around lunch time and I've been sleeping most of the time since then. By the way, chemo made me lose most of my hair, but not all of it. I didn't like how it looked so on Tuesday morning I shaved it all off. I like bald better than fuzzy.

I've been feeling pretty well lately. I had lunch with friends from work twice last week. This weekend we drove to Maryland to attend our nephew's birthday party. Since it was on the way, we stopped at SVU and picked up Allison to go with us. Tomorrow I start my fourth round of chemotherapy.
